How legit is it?

Sorry if seems like a dumb question but I have never heard of it untill now and it is asking for my Steam password which I value more than the wife

Any advantages instead of just using Steam like I allready do?

It looks really nice and has some nice community features, kind of a "Facebook for gamers" but not sure about putting my Steam details in there.
