Raspberry Pi - no display

Finally received my rev2 raspberry pi but I can't get it to output to display correctly.

I formatted 3 sd cards and put noobs on all of them. Turned it on and the noobs screen came up installed openELEC and rebooted and nothing.

I then put hdmi_safe=1 into the config.ini and that brought up the noobs press shift to enter recovery mode screen so at least that was better than before.

Done the same with the config.ini for openELEC and it got it as far as the xbmc media centre boot screen but then the logo just flashes intermittently and doesn't get any further.

The Pi appears to be functioning correctly because I can see it on my LAN and sharing samba.

Tried the usual tricks such as different cables booting with nothing but power and hdmi cable connected.

Any ideas?

Hmm..

I'd try...

New power adapter
New hdmi cable
Another tv

Never had a problem with display, I've set up around 9 of them now

What tv are you using? Try googling tv model + pi to see if anyone else has had trouble with it

Have you only tried installing openELEC? Try one of the other distro's and see if you have the same issue with them.

Managed to get this working in 720p by adding the following to my config.txt file

hdmi_edid_file=1
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=4

Found it on a guide online. Not sure if all of it is required
