I want to rasterbate an image of the periodic table

the space on the wall i have is 1.2m wide by enough height to not worry about it.

1.2m is 5 sheets (landscape) which works out quite well

when it comes to the settings page, what should i set the dots size to? preumeably the dot size is the size of each pixel? so for a periodic table to work, should i set it as low as possible (1mm)? or am i wasting my time trying to rasterbate a periodic table (in a sense that it won't work, not in a sense that it's sad)

this is the image i'm using:

thanks for the help

Your best bet would be to do it with the smallest dot size, and just browse the pdf before printing it. To see if the text is readable, might not come out very well.

kk i'll try this now

i just got a message of how it was gonna take ages and use a lot of memory, oh dear, lol.

okay it's rasterbated it, but it's changed a plain white background into lots of black squares?

thanks, will try now

i think my parents would go mental if i printed that one, and i do quite like the simple look =]

If you're printing on an inkjet, select black ink only (or similar) on the printer, or the printer might try to print black using a mix of colours.

BTW looking at that table, is it one you made yourself?

It looks like it came out of a spreadsheet application.
If you didn't make it yourself, you could replicate it in a spreadsheet and then print. The resulting print would be of a better quality, and any paper joins would be at cell borders.

erm no it's one i got off the net

it just finished printing, i'm gonna cut it on the guillotine at school, if it doesn't look very good i'll print it again in the way you suggested =]

thank you very much for the help. I will bump this with a picture tomorrow.

Rasterbating amongst teens and its a good stress reliever for your plain bedroom wall, however if you are rasterbating with the periodic table, you should maybe talk to someone about that...

If your into science just rasterbate the A-bomb.

The RSC website also has lots of great landscapes of periodic properties.

The flyby of first ionization energies is fabulous as you see the great pillar of He standing out from the rest of the elements.
