All it takes is a new owner of a console and suddenly he/she will keep this part of the forums alive with silly questions!
The wife has been playing Ratchet & Clank for ages now.
She isn't great but she's enjoying herself which is the main thing and she will only get better.
Anyway I told her the importance of saving games and she has been doing so now and again.
When we called it a night last night she had four saved games and just as she was finishing for the night she saved once more.
So, to this morning.
She switches the PS3 back on, goes to the menu and chooses to load the final save from last night.
She is most frustrated to see that although she gets the message "Data loaded OK" she is watching the intro again (which there doesn't seem to be any way of skipping) and she is right back at the beginning of the level.
She goes to load another game, a slightly earlier one and exactly the same.
In fact each of the four saves she has when loaded simply start the intro again and dump her at the beginning of the level.
Is it the case that this game simply auto-saves when neccessary - in which case why is there a save option?
Or can you only save at certain points - in which case why does it allow the game to save?
Basically the wife is getting rather frustrated as she plays the game, advances and then has to keep on starting over.
Has anyone seen this problem before?
