Rate my build

Well considering I was on a b650 board and a 2060 GPU I think it's a very good significant upgradeed PC which will last me at least 7 - 10 years with great performance for what I use it for as I'm not a overclocking bench mark fps chasing person play games and enjoy

I just chose to spread the budget differently. You put more of it into raw GPU power, I put more of it into the overall system/setup I personally wanted to own and use long term. Neither approach is objectively wrong, they’re just aimed at different priorities.
Most of your build isn't weird for the money they cost, to be honest. It is just the overall total seems high for what you got.

Case and fans is the biggest expense, not sure how much, but 250-300+ if all the parts were new? A lot of us overspend on cases and fans, like the brown fan lovers :o

The board isn't that expensive, can be had for £200 or less.

That 400 odd quid goes a long way to re-spec the machine though, except you're going to stare at it every day, so maybe it was worth it to you.

That and spending £650 on a 5070, even if Nvidia biased a 5070ti can be had for another £100 or so.

You can pick up 5070's for £500, £520 if you really want a triple fan for the looks (the TUF is the one the OP purchased):

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,676.96 (includes delivery: £7.99)

You gain nothing tangible by spending more on a 5070.

It is if this is correct as OP was already on AM5, that's £200 + that could have went elsewhere (like the GPU).

Just be happy with your build OP, you only need to convince yourself.

Ouch. Didn't realise they were that expensive.
Asus tax strikes again

Honestly, it isn't a bad build specs-wise...if it cost £1700-1800. But for £2400, it absolutely is a terrible spec.
£2400 is "high-end spec" money, not a "mid-range spec"
Not to mention that this is on credit as well, so the total cost would probably be closer to £3k! :(

Yeah it does in grand scheme of things and yes the case ****** me but I will be honest I knew the case I wanted so when I was putting parts in the basket I forgot to check the cost and in the end I wish I had gone for the Lian li O11 case at like 110 and spent the extra 114 else where but that was my mistake I will be honest and could have got me a ti yes if I had known and didn't rush it

Yeah I am happy but got case remorse regrettably and yes could have got better GPU or CPU

Ok so forget the cost look at it from a components point of view if someone had that build and said here look at this what you think without knowing the cost would you think differently the cost should not p
Out weigh the build for example if your build that you have you love cost you 2k but someone had the same exact build but cost 3k his is no different to yours so only difference is he got shafted on part costs that's all

This is exactly our point! You got shafted on the price. In no way should a 7800x3d/5070 build cost £2.4k!

Cause I'm looking at component point of view

You cannot separate that from their cost, their value is inherently cost vs performance and arguably feature set, which is exactly what will dictate a persons point of view.

Here's an example, take two cars:

1. Black Audi A4 - £10,0000
2. White Audi A4 but otherwise identical spec/year/mileage/condition - £20,000

You're asking us if the different coat of paint is worth spending another £10,000 and then asking us to ignore the fact and offer our opinion on the colour.

On the subject of cases... If you buy one that

A) you really like
B) is objectively also a very good case

It's not a waste of money. My old lian li pca10 is still in use at the grand old age of 16.
I think it was about £150/200 (I can't remember) when I bought it which was an outrageous amount of money for a case back then.

I'm only now thinking of retiring it, and I can't remember how many different builds it's seen.. so it's certainly paid for itself... So if you choose a case carefully, with aesthetics that will age well, there's nothing wrong with high end cases, as you won't need to be buy a new one for a very long time.

Also options to mod it, my coolermaster doesn't have routing for cables, but I guess if I take a hole saw to it, I could cut out holes for the EPS and motherboard cables. Also cut out holes for radiator. A 2x 140mm will fit on the top
