Rate my rig?

Hey guys, I'm looking to play Powerful games like battlefield 3, on DX11(dx10 if I have to), but I'm not sure if my rig will handle it. Can you please rate my rig, tell ms how it will handle?

i3 3.06ghz (I can upgrade to i5 if needed)

Ati HD6850 1gb-gddr5

8gb RAM

I'm guessing you're talking about the i3-540. Your computer should be fine. Put a £20 aftermarket cooler on the CPU and overclock the i3 to >4GHz, everything will run like a dream.

Bios always for CPU overclocking. Have a look at the sticky in the overclocking forum if you need some pointers.

Guys I just found a after cooler fan in my computers box, it looks pretty decent, I'll see if it holds up well.

Also my motherboard is an albacore-gl6e (I think, I can't remember if the changed it), that's all I can say about it. It came with my PC which I bought, and payed to be upgraded for gaming for £600, back in early 2007.

if you bought the PC as a pre-built from somewhere else instead of OCUK, the chances of you being able to overclock with the motherboard are slim.

Well I tried overclocking and only got it up to 3.4ghz before it crashed on me, so I'll just leave it running that speed and see how well it runs games.
