These are my idle temps using:
PA120.3 with 3x Noctua NF-P12 @ 800rpm
Swiftech MCP-355 aka Laing DDC Ultra 18W
Heatkiller 3.0 CU
EK 5850 block
15C ambient temp
This is my first loop, I'm pretty happy with noise and temps except the core2 temp on CPU and GPU VRM temp under load.
Those of you that have the Heatkiller know there's a little "divider" inside the inlet that directs flow towards the die areas. It seems to be designed for quad cores so I tried removing it but it wouldn't budge with the minimal force I was prepared to use. Is this what's causing the high temp on the 2nd core? Under load the temps even out.
As for the VRM reading, it seems fine idle but with a heavy OC under load it goes up towards 90C - people have told me this is "normal" and I know it's rated for stupid heat, but I can't help wondering if I've bodged the contact with the block. I used NTH-1 paste to help secure the pads to the chips, and it seemed fine with indentations on all thermal pads when I removed it.
Well, thanks for any advice and even reading that little ramble.
