I've got a BMW 420D gran coupe model year 2019. There is a constant rattling that seems to come from the drivers drive window.

I've had it in a couple of garages and just told them to take the door apart and just replace all the seals etc for the window. But they keep refusing till they can hear it...

Anyone have any thoughts since it's driving me wild.

Something is obviously loose, or someone left something behind in your door.

The window itself wouldn't be the most likely to rattle; it is more probable for it to be the window motor or mechanism. It's a door card off jobbie to diagnose this type of issue. They are pretty eay to remove if you have the right torx bits.

With these things it's easier just to take it apart yourself than asking a garage to do it. Most of the time they don't fix it.

Probably a wire tapping against something or part of the window mechanism loose.

Get yourself some trim removal tools and some replacement door card clips and have a look yourself - could be something obvious and easy

yes dismantle it -
youv'e cleaned and lubed the seals in case the rattling is from glass in frame -
is the rattle still there with window lowered , or does the different position of the mechanicals inside the door change it ?
in frozen weather I'd had some clips break and the stuck glass partially detach from the rail it sits on so needed some new window slider clips

It’s the door lock pin thing. It’s a known source of rattles on the F3x products.
