I picked up a b-grade Aquacomputer 7970 block a about 6 weeks ago. After getting all the bits together am finally starting to sort out my install and have noticed the block rattles.

Initially I put it down to the bridge thing at the top perhaps being loose but it still rattles when this is removed. Is this normal for blocks, particularly the aquacomputer 7970, or could it be a problem?

Thanks
Ian

I can assure you it is 100% supposed to rattle.

I went through the same level of paranoia with the same block and stripped it down, it's a small plate above the vrm area for the '3d flow'

I even went as far as getting aquacomputer to confirm this :)

Fantastic! Thanks for letting me know, I was hoping you would see this :)

Was certainly a little nervous with it being my first attempt and a b-grade block. Only problem is where to get a 2nd but reckon I will start off with just one under water.

Haha one of my blocks was b grade too, that didn't help the paranoia :p

Fairly sure I had to buy my second block from another retailer. Bang the product code into Google and see what you get.

I have been trying from time to time and all other retailers are out of stock or claim the block is discontinued.

Aqua-Computer's website has said it has a 21 day lead time for months now. I did contact them and they said it has been out of stock for months but has a delivery time of 1-2 weeks. All the information contradicts slightly but at least they aren't saying its discontinued. They only take payment via bank transfer or paypal with a transaction fee so I am a bit wary of paying up front for something which may not materialise!

Yeah I'd be careful ordering direct, iirc some had big problems ordering 680 lightning blocks from them after finding 'a few weeks' turned into 'a few months'.

I'll keep an eye out for you though.
