Hey guys.

Not sure where to post this but anyway. Started last night while playing dying light when i started hearing this rattling noise, its not that loud but enough to annoy you, thoguht it was a cable on a fan but opened it up today and couldn't see anything catching. It's not making the noise now but does occasionally starts making the noise again. Any ideas?

when\if it happens again try and take the side of the case off and see if you can narrow down where the rattling is coming from.

could be the HDD if your not using a SSD, could be a gpu fan if the bearings are going in the fan or it could be a case fan if you have any extra ones

I have a dodgy fan on 1 of my 280x. Only found out by stopping each fan.. Can't hear it with a headset on.. Only noticed it when I booted up a few weeks ago. Too lazy to take it out atm.

Thanks for your replies. It hasn't made the sound today(4hours) so not sure what it is. Could be GPU or a case fan like you said if it happens again i will do what you suggest and take the panel off the case.

Ok update. I heard the sound again today so shutdown and took the side panel off to try and locate i. Thing is, is that i didn#'t hear a thing with the panel off for over 30mins put the panel back on and the sound is back. ? could it be case vibration?

my 12cm top fans started doing this. if you hit the area around the fan it will stop. Obviously this tip only works for case fans, dont smash your gpu or cpu fan.
