RAW viewing bother

A while ago I installed the M$ codec pack to allow photo viewer to open RAW files

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26829

It's there if you want it.

For some unknown reason, when I now try to open a RAW file to finish off getting rid of my rubbish shots, I now get the message that I need to either upgrade photo viewer, or that it doesn't support that file format.

Anyone else having this problem? It was working fine when I last sifted through my RAW files, about 2 months ago.

I've got hundreds of photos, and opening them individually in LR, etc isn't something I want to bother doing :)

It's odd. I've got RAW files from a 300D, 30D and 60D and non of them will open. I've no idea what's gone wrong. I've reinstalled the codec pack too, so I'm at a loss.

I haven't uninstalled it yet, but I have tried removing codecs that might have caused a problem, and that hasn't solved it. The message I'm getting is actually in the photo viewer itself. There's a lot of people that have the problems at one point or another, but none of the answers on the M$ forums, etc seem to actually solve it.

I'll have another go at it tomorrow after work. Bed beckons, I'm shattered!
