Rayman Origins

It is great on Xbox. I was playing it a couple of days ago.

Wouldn't want to play it without some form of controller though.

I have it on PS3. It is very good game but I agree that it would be wierd with a keyboard. The controls are very fiddly in places and I could see some keyboard rage appearing when you are on one of the 'catch the treasure chest' levels.

In all honestly, when it is a mere £18 new on console there is no point getting it on PC. Afaik it is 1080p as it is 2D there is no possible way the 'PC power' can make it better. This is a game meant to be played whilst relaxing on the sofa :).

Have always been a little miffed by the lack of quality platform games on the Pc, definetly going top give this a try.

Gotta have 360 controller support, hope so anyway.

Ubisoft are probably only doing this because the game sold very poorly on consoles it could not even break the top 30 all formats chart even when it was launched on several different consoles

But still Rayman 1,2,3 all came out on PC back in the day & even now are still excellent looking 2D/3D platform games & well worth buying :D

At least they got the pricing right for once ;)

Rayman Origins is a real gem. The first platformer I have thoroughly enjoyed in many years. Nice to see it coming to PC but I think I’ll stick to my PS3 for this one.

It’s goofy, fun and looks absolutely gorgeous. There are bits that remind me of LocoRoco :)

Peeps should be happy it's coming to PC at all instead of being a console exclusive game.

As for the “ripping off Little Big Planet”… uh, sure. Whatever.

It is kind of riding on the LBP wave imo, very similar style and gameplay.

Yes rayman has been around since the dark ages but we haven't had a new rayman platformer for ages.

I think these types of games are actually pretty essential for PC owners. For example, Alien Breen Impact or Trine 2 are basically old skool top down or side scroll platform games, however due to the lower requirements these games are ideal for quite a few PC gamers, they run at 1080 with almost anything but the oldest of graphic cards and are brilliant little gems of games.

Rayman Origins will slot nicely into these types of games and work brilliantly for laptop owners that just want to plug in a 360 controller and enjoy portable gaming without needing a machine that has a GPU the size of a shoebox..!!

Alien Breed impact in fact was worse on the PS3 as the developers didn’t bother to engage v sync so it tore quite badly when compared to the PC version – which can be had for little money on Steam.

I always like to play something like Another World special edition (the new release with high res modes), Monkey Island special editions, Trine or Trine 2, Alien Breed impact or something on my laptop during my lunch breaks or when I’m in bed etc on my laptop, they are excellent, and Rayman will fit quite nicely into my little collection of lower spec PC games…

Can’t wait for this….

DRM free for retail version and one time activation for digital download?
How long do we think that'll last?

Edit: I'd be surprised if they manage to mess this up as well, but it is Ubisoft, so they'll no doubt manage.
Pretty sure they have a department dedicated to making the PC gamers experience worse.

I have it on the xbox and it's a very easy to play game. Game store had a deal on recently where the price was reduced down to £17. Bargain!

Brilliant game, even on the Wii it is ace.

It is one of those games that most people would normally avoid as it comes across as a kiddie game but try it if you can it really is a brilliant platformer with great art and music.

Can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
