hey im am intrested in buying

Razer Baracuda HP-1 Gaming Headset

and

Razer Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Sound Card

im currently using onboard sound and speedlink medusa 5.1 headphones and creative 6.1 souround sound system

i play a lot of games mainly CSS.

is this setup worth the money quality wise over onboard sound and do you think there would be a majour diffrence.

any advice would be great as its a lot of money to spend if you dont know what the improvment is gona be like.

I have the headphones coupled with an Xfi-music sound card. Well worth the money, you will find yourself turning off your "fragging music" in css and holding shift to walk around in stupid wide open places to listen for enemies, you will be able to strafe over entrances to corridors knowing if someone is coming down it. Sure, you will get called a hacker a few times but its all worth it

The razer sound card is a gimmick and you can only use razer headsets with it. Would definatley go with a XFI Music

I too am interested in this kind of purchase. Do you think its nessesary to purchase an AC-1 to get the full potential out of the HP-1's? Or could you get away with a Xfi card?

That AC-1 does seem rather expensive even after OC's 'This Week Only'

I play CSS at a high level and the XFI is more than enough. AC1 is a gimmick imo

Any reviews or opinions why not to get the Razer Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Sound Card over the Creative brands? I thought I'll be a bit different

Or should I just save my money and get the 'Value' one of the XFI brands?

overpriced.
