Razer Chimaera headset for xbox 360.

i want a 5.1 wireless headset but there doesnt seem to be many about

for those using them, how is the mic and sound quality and do you think there is anything better for £170?

There's loads better for £170. An Astro mixamp and a set of HD565's will blow them away.

For £180 you can get an astro mixamp and a set of PC360's which are the best headset for positional audio you can get.

I've got a pair of Astro A40s with the wireless mixamp and they are excellent.

I got some different tags and a rechargable battery for the mixamp and with delivery it was about £218.

Well worth the investment tho.

PC360? It's amazing. Fantastic quality sound, noise cancelling and mutes when you raise the boom. They also have a headphone volume dial on the headset istelf (rather than stupidly placing it on the cable).

I'd avoid the wireless mixamps too, complete waste of time as there are so many more wires than the wired version ironically, plus charging/battery concerns.

I just give up on wireless and put up the the cables. I just make do with Astro A40's

I did, but they sent me a brand new one and told me to keep my old one. The only thing wrong with it was the plastic door on my optical port had broken, which means the cable was no longer held in place.

So now I own two.

They have been great, they're also sending me a new chat cable (mix amp to pad) since that decided to die a couple of days after I got the new amp.

Although I would expect nothing less after spending nearly £200 on the system, it was not acceptable for it to fall apart after only owning it for 7 months when I spent that amount of money on it.

+1 for this I sent them an email with a shipping problem I had and the MD replied within minutes and sorted it out effortlessly.

Not like another company that know they have a fault with "talkbackcables" and offer a replacement for a price

I bought a Wireless Mixamp and A40 Headset a little while ago and love them - use them with both the 360 & PS3.

I got the TBX41s for £100.00. They eat batteries (Rechargeable) but sound quality, comfort, lightweight etc they are worth every penny.
