bought a razer copperhead sk gaming edition from the shop while they were cheap a while back.

anyway, none of the illumination is working now? was definitely working last night, got up this morning, and nothing?

has anybody else had this problem?
whats the best way to fix it?
is it possible this has happened because the mouse is always plugged in, and the computer is only turned off for restarts every now and then?

cheers.

Whilst you have not said - does the mouse still work?

Assuming it does, have you tried plugging it into a different USB port?

or

Tried updating the firmware on the mouse and also updating the driver to the latest razer versions?

Never had anything go wrong with mine so can't assist with actual prob

- good suggestion

And , again just in case, try it in someone else's machine.

If not working properly in anyone's - RMA

sorry, problem i have, never seem to make things perfectly clear! lol

okay, mouse still works fine. buttons, wheel sensitivity everything.
have tried resetting the pc, also using different ports. no difference.

i updated the firmware, and drivers the day i received the mouse. i have vista installed at the moment, and the bundles drivers werent working properly.
currently, firmware 6.2 and driver 6.1. (which after a quick check are still the most recent).

:'( guess i will have to send it off then. just wait and see what razer say. i really dont know how i will cope without it, even if only for a couple of day (which i know is unlikely!). from the day i got it, i fell in love with the silks smooth gliding over the desk. just been using my logitech mx revolution, and it feels dirty! lol. so rough, almost as if it is moving over sand!

Just think yourself lucky your mouse doesn't light up like a christmas tree anymore :)

Not helpful I know, sorry :(

As aged suggested, is it possible to try it on another machine?

Furthermore...

I know with the lachesis driver menu that you can enable/disable the LED. Is it possible in the copperhead menu?

Have you tried completely removing all razer drivers using add/remove, rebooting and then replugging the mouse in? The mouse should be picked up by vista as a compliant mouse, you will just lose key assignment.

Noticed this on a popular razer forum with regard to a copperhead light off issue.

"Install the V6.18 firmware on the mouse then uninstall the drivers through add/remove. Grab the v6.10 drivers and install as normal but do not install the firmware that goes with the v6.10 driver and all works as normal but uses the v6.10 driver. I had the same problem and that's how I solved it"

do you have anything like this:

im thinking . retry installing drivers. erm other than that i dont know.

my diamondback has worked fine for a long .... time so perhaps an led broke or soemthing ?

also check device manager and make sure your usb ports have a enough power going to them etc

would have thought so. it has been fine since i got it, until yesterday.

also been used previously in my parents laptop and their pc with no issues.

im thinking that whatever controls the illumination has failed, as none of it works. if it was just one, then i would have said an led has blown, but the glowpipe, led on the wheel, and the one in the logo?

Ugh, more problems with the mouse. Heard they break so easily. Ordered mine today after much research. Kinda wishing i'd gone for the Lachesis.
