Razer Copperhead

Just ordered one of these mice and wondering if anyone else uses one and what they think of it.

Its a great mouse, only mouse thats better imo is the Diamondback, its less hasstle than the copperhead, no need to worry about firmware upgrades with the diamondback, but truly the copperhead is an awsome mouse.

Owning both the diamondback and copperhead, while the diamondback is less hastle and power consuming (so will work on all laptop etc) The copperhead outstrips it in performance, comfort (less likely to accidently press side buttons) and surface compatability. Great mouse :D

I purchased a diamondback plasma a while back.

The mouse was a little on the small size but that didn't bother me much. The large main buttons were nice.

However I had some serious issues with the mouse. The side buttons were ill-sized, ill-placed and too close to each other. The drivers were very naff as I had to map buttons to keyboard keys in windows, then map keys in games to those keyboard keys to be able to use the extra buttons on the mouse.

I sold it on and got a Logitech MX518 instead which I love although seems to get dirty rather quickly.

He aint asking about the diamondback though.

Imo the Copperhead is an awesome mouse. Totally configurable to just hwo you like it :D Buttons are very well placed (compared to diamondback) and easy to press on the fly too. Not too heavy, or too light either, slides very gracefully on ym desk, yet doesny just slip everywhere out of control.

Very precise in games too, especially if your a sensitive gamer (I use full dpi and sense in games, very fast move-ing and twitchy)

You'll love it. Only problem I have is sometimes have to plug it back in the usb on boot as its not picked up? :/ Firmware update was supposed to fix but. hey. Its a rare event anyway.

Also, the pulse is amazing :D

Been thinking of replacing my old mx500 with 1 of these razers, do they work alright on icemats ? also has any 1 tryed them on vista beta ?

I was replying to the post above mine which mentioned it - sorry I know that wasn't clear. The way I see it though if drivers from one model of mouse are rubbish then it doesn't give me great confidence in another from same company. It wasn't exactly a cheapo one either. Anyway, thats just my experience with it, maybe others liked it.

My diamondback (purchased 16-July-2005) had the same problem - they've had ages to fix it.

I've got a Copperhead and I love it. It's incredibly precise, way better than anything else I've used. It's really comfortable as well. I haven't had any issues with it at all - I updated it to the latest firmware when I got it and it's been running perfectly since.

All in all, a brilliant mouse. It looks great with its blue lights as well :)

There are 2 things i hold in my hand that are perfect size and shape. and the copperhead is one of them

I'd consider an MX1000 too.

I bought the copperhead and found it to be a tacky, glowy thing (thats not commenting on how it performs, just how it looks).

The MX1000, looks good, feels good, and performs well too. :p
