Razer have a DeathAdder for left handed gamers. Blurb follows:

"The Razer DeathAdder Left Hand Edition features a unique ergonomic form factor to give lefties a comfort they can call their own for extended gaming sessions. The Razer DeathAdder Left Hand Edition boasts five programmable Hyperesponse buttons, as well as the trademark 1000Hz Ultrapolling technology, providing gamers with the speed necessary to make every moment count. Loaded with a 3500dpi Razer Precision™ 3.5G infrared sensor that offers over four times more precision than a standard 800dpi mouse, the Razer DeathAdder Left Hand Edition is fully equipped to frag, especially when you strike from the blind side."

I have a normal deathadder and a dodgy right hand (compressed ulnar nerve), so had to use it left handed for a month or two :(

Now my right hand is getting better, but it still gets a swollen little finger tendon from overuse which goes away in 2-3 days with massage. Using it normally is better for recovery as nothing is broken, just an annoying big swollen nerve.

I should have gotten an ambidexterous one.

The 1800 dpi one is just the right speed, not too fast, but not too slow.

I think so too. I have the 3.5G but running it at 1800 dpi. I've tried the 3500 dpi but the mouse pointer goes mental and very difficult to control. I suppose it suits the twitchy-type fps gamers which is probably Razer's primary market. Good news for southpaws. I'm a rightie but know of friends who are fans of Razer and lefties. Link BTW...

Was getting some tendon pain with my MS Sidewinder but since switching the DeathAdder, I've had no problems at all even for extended use. Very comfy mouse.

just turn the windows sensitivity down?

I've seen it recommended that mouse sensitivity left at default and adjust dpi instead. I'm guessing because sensitivity is a software tweak vs a hardware implementation? I've found the 1800 dpi to be just right for pretty much everything I do. That'll vary vastly for different individuals of course. Initially I did have on-the-fly sensitivity mapped to the mouse but after a few days I got used to the higher dpi (the Sidewinder was crap at high dpi) and it stays at 1800 all the time now. Main thing I was looking for was comfort and it has worked out well there.

i like 2000dpi at the standard sensitivity. so basically the same as you. I run my mouse at 5700 with the sense down lower now, not really sure why, just think it "more must = better right? lol

I'm left handed and have only ever seen one other person use the mouse in their left hand and she was quite old :)

I've just bought a DeathAdder and its very comfy. Its quite big and I have slightly long hands so it feels very comfortable.

I couldn't cope with using a mouse in my left - FPS games would be impossible!

Now if it was a left handed cheque book....

Has anyone managed to get the firmware updated on the DeathAdder mouse using Win7 x64.

I tried the last firmware but it just failed. I ran it as Admin but no use. I can't install the driver software yet as it makes my pointer jump around. Not much fun playing games.

I updated to the latest firmware on Win 7 x64 last night. It requires the Razer drivers installed first. I got a warning first time, installed these and then the f/w update ran fine. Maybe that's the issue? I know a lot of folks run the mouse without drivers but Razer claims to have fixed the BSOD issues in the latest and so far so good. Latest f/w is 2.33 and after just looking there is another driver version that was released today. Can't keep up!

I encountered this issue and found a solution here. You may want to use another mouse to install if it helps your issue, it's no problem plugging two in at once.

It looks as though it's all been updated now though.

Mine's still working pretty sweet on what's listed in that thread, but every now and again a double click of an item in explorer brings up it's properties. Not sure if it's a deathadder problem or some sort of conflict with other software I'm running like the logitech g-series profiler.

This is great! I only bought a Steelseries Xai a few months ago but think ill deffo be buying one of these i've been whining for a left handed gaming mouse from Razer for years!

Uh-oh, it's a big mouse...I was worried about that! Do you know how much it weighs? Is it heavy? When you have to pick up the mouse in order to move it (during normal use) do you have to really squeeze it to pick it up?

My MX-610 leftie was annoyingly heavy...

Its not heavy. I wouldn't say its like piloting a boat but its longer than my logitech mouse (which I think is a bit taller). It just feels comfy to me.

So those that are left handed - do you have the mouse in your left hand and use the keys with the right when playing games? Feels very alien to me and I'm a lefty :)
