Razer Deathadder problem

I bought a Razer Deathadder 2013 last week to play games on my Lenovo ideapad Y580 laptop and it's got me stumped.

Before I plug in the mouse Internet Explorer works fine on the touchpad on my laptop - left click, right click, scroll, etc, but as soon as I plug in the new mouse I cannot use the scroll bars or right click inside the window on Internet Explorer or use the scroll wheel. Left clicks work fine, and if I click the scroll wheel it brings up the little arrow in a circle which lets me scroll up and down the page but clicking it again does not turn it off I have to hit escape to cancel it. Right clicking doesn't bring up the usual menu but does make the links on the MSN homepage react, ie blur and shrink, but other than that nothing unless I right click outside of the main window like in the address bar then it acts as normal but it just refuses to work on the pages. When I plug the mouse in it stops the touchpad working properly as well until the system is restarted, even if I disconnect the mouse.

I don't think it's a hardware issue because the mouse works fine in games and most apps/programs, so I'm guessing it's some sort of compatability problem I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the mouse drivers and razer synapse, and have reset internet explorer but it hasn't had any effect.

I have found as well that the mouse doesn't scroll or click when I use the search function in windows 8.1 so I have to use the keyboard instead, but programs like excel and word it works fine.

If someone could help me out I'd really appreciate it.
