Razer launches game store alternative to Steam and Amazon

Appears to be a "White label" Metaboli/Gamesplanet site.

Just another key seller albeit not grey market.

Steam is safe everyone, move along, nothing to see here.

Presumably this will allow them to give away game keys for less with their overpriced tat quality range of peripherals.

I feel like they're gambling on the Razer Exclusives scheme to make this a worthwhile endeavour ("Every week, we pick four games we think you’d like and throw in perks to sweeten the deal. This week, purchase any of the four Razer Exclusives to get: £10 Razer Game Store discount voucher, x2 zSilver earned per purchase, £10 Razerstore hardware voucher"). Looking at the prices of games on there nothing seems especially good compared to alternatives (although saying that Wolfenstein The New Colossus at £16 seems well priced), so unless you're really keen on the hardware, or the prices/bundles become really good, I can't see anyone else being too concerned.

£13 for Wolfenstein 2, hopefully you can stack the £10 voucher with the 15% off discount code. Means ill get Far Cry 5 for about £30 which is cheaper than anywhere else.

Competition is good, if they do good deals why wouldn't you use them? Don't see the issue, not like there is another bit of software to worry about.

Please let me know if you get FC5 for this as id be all in :)

A quick perusal - GTA V £39.99 ''Best Seller' haha - £16 everywhere else on the net....

A lot of overpriced games which can be had substantially cheaper at other established digital shops.

This is becoming ridiculous now, now with Steam, Origin, Ubisoft, GoG, Twitch and many others its just pointless. as others have said it will force people to use it with "free game bundles" which are tied to their platform, and then incompatible with other platforms. Its a shame to see gaming going this way.

I love steam but how would them having a monopoly on PC gaming be good for consumers?

The number of available sources has increased over the years but the prices haven't decreseased, infact most have increased considerably, even for a base game ignoring the DLC models. Having a single platform is much simpler to manage and gives easier integration, plus most of the others are appalling.
