Hi,

I just received my keyboard and I love the looks etc but coming from a Logitech Dinovo Edge keyboard I am unsure of the feel of these keys. They are quite noisy and don't seem as soft to push as the Dinovo Edge keys, anyone got the other Razer keyboard the Tarantula? I am just wondering if the Trantula keys are soft to press? And are they quite nosiy when typing?

Thinking of sending this one back under the 7 day return thing and trying the Tarantula.

Just been having a look around and from what I can see the Saitek Eclipse 2 and the Logitech G15 seem like good boards but do they have these noisy keys, have they got the soft/cushioned keys?

Well i have both the Saitek Eclipse 1 and 2 and for me and i wouldnt say it is silent but its definatly doesnt really cause a problem. best to try and find one in a high street store (purple shirts?) and maybe asking if you could try typing.

theres some things you can only try in a store like a keyboard.
some microsoft keyboards are also soft to the type, the logitech g15 might be worth a look coming from a logitech background.
buy it online though it'll be much cheaper.

If you want a soft keyboard with quiet keys may I recommend the Enermax Aurora? Its classy too, made from brushed aluminium, and a bit of a bargain at £35 from OCUK!

To the OP>I went from a standard microsoft keyboard which I loved to a gaming keyboard that is the Razer Tarantula.

I hated it. It's very large for a start. But given how much I love my deathadder I thought the tarantula would be of the same quality. Quality wise it built like a battleship. But when it came to using the keyboard I just had so much trouble adapting to it. You have to push the keys hard compared to other keyboards so When I was typing I had a stupid amount of spelling mistakes or more precisely letters which I thought I typed which were in fact left out.

Now if you are a slower paced typer then it matters not and while not being the fastest typer I do race along at a decent speed. And it had this tiny enter button which drove me mental.

In the end I gave up and bought a g15 rev 2. While it has a lot of gimmicks some of the stuff is handy. I still prefer my old microsoft keyboard for typing but this seems to be a decent compromise between web surfing/general duties and gaming.

The only other keyboard I would have considered is the reclusa.

The Tarantula does have some features like the ability to plug your headsets and mic in the keyboard with USB ports but the ports are limited to USB 1.

For gaming it seemed fine enough but it wouldn't be my first choice for general all round use.

I'm looking at Razer keybords and mice for my new build. Can't take the Tarantula though as I noticed it doesn't have the normal 6 Delete/End/PgDown keys.
