Hi guys ive changed most of my peripherals over the last few months so the only to change now is the keyboard. I know there are a lot of good keyboards out there but I know it' should not be a reason to buy a certain keyboard but I want rgb lighting on my next keyboard. Now I recently bought a razer mamba and to be honest I really do like it so Iooked at the chroma and chroma v2. The software is easy to use and the board looks nice. Next I must admit I like the look of the corsair boards especially the k95 and k95 platinum. The thing that puts me off is the software. I had bought a m65 mouse last year and I did really like it but I had a nightmare with the cue software so much I swapped the mouse for a logitech g502. Now is the software more reliable for the keyboards than the mice or is a lottery how your board works with the software. Also it puts me off a bit that seems to be a few threads on here about issues with the software and the k70 boards. Is this a big problem or am I worring for nothing. Also if you guys can recommend a different rgb board I would be open for alternatives. ..Thanks guys

Best idea is to look for the switches you want first and go with what has the features you want, marco, usb ports, headphone/mic jacks etc.

I have lots of keyboards (magpie syndrome).

I used to love my Corsair keyboard (strafe RGB silent) mechanically it was solid but the software is definitely the elephant in the room. If you haven't already head over to the Corsair forums and look at the keyboard and mouse section and CUE section. It has more horror content than all horror movies ever made combined lol.

I have the Razer Chroma V2 atm and it's been brilliant for me. Solid, they use better key cap switches now (although not Cherry MX they feel great tbh) and the software is FAR easier and so much more reliable and hasn't caused me any odd problems at all unlike CUE.

This however us my experience ymmv of course, just my 2 pence.

Wow...cheers guys....that was my biggest fear with the corsair boards...looks like I was right then...I think you might just have convinced me to go with the razer ...BTW. do you use a razer mouse as well at all wulf?

I have the Razer Naga Chroma. I bought it intending to use with the Razer keyboard to cut down on peripheral bloatware but tbh I couldn't give up my Roccat Nyth, it just handles better for me. The Razer mouse has found a loving home on my other PC though.

.

Thanks .dude..it's just that my mamba as been working fine since I had it ( about 6 weeks ) but just lately I've noticed a couple of things different with it lately. First I assigned my left tilt on my mouse wheel to key stroke n for gaming purposes but this appears to not work now for some reason. Second I've noticed when you change dpi setting on the mouse it would pop up on screen to show you what setting you on but that's stopped aswell. Do you think it could just be s software glitch and do a reinstall?

Could be and a reinstall of the software is easy and quick enough to rule out.

Just out of interest, have you tried reassigning the affected mouse buttons to other functions as a test to rule out mechanical problems?

Just a quick one chap. Just ordered the razer chroma v2 with green switches. To say the Mrs was not very happy when I told her the price is an understatement. I will give it a bash when it comes and let you know what I think ..cheers

I've just bought the Strafe RGB Blue that's on offer here at the moment, gets good reviews.

Just hope I can get on with Cue, they just released a newer version.

Hehe, I tend to be generous with the truth where the Mrs is concerned (saves a lot of hassle) lol.

Hope you enjoy yours mate, loving mine and it has the most comfortable wrist rest I've ever experienced.

Dude I did like the look of some of the corsair keyboards but the cue software put me off....I've used it before or should I say I've tried to use it so opted for the razer....

Oh well, I like a challenge!

I've been after a blue switched keyboard for a while, this was too good to pass up.
