RazorMouse Copperhead keeps disconnecting

Hello

I've got this annoying problem when my mouse keeps on disconnecting itself and connecting back the the PC. Its on USB and i've updated firmware and drivers and it keeps on happening.

The mouse will move and then hang for a second and then i move it again and its back to normal. I've tried other USB ports and i think its down to the mouse now. I've had it for over 4+ years and its been very good to me with no hicups till recently.

Any suggestion what i can try and do?

I had that. Kept getting more frequent so I replaced it with a Logitech G5. They have the same DPI but the logitech feels smoother probably because of the increase in weight and size, I use my whole hand to move it rather then a few fingers. Oh and it has a braided cable

I guess that it is just wear and tear, 4 years is a long time - you must have knocked it a couple of times - internal circuitry/connections possibly.
