Im planning a first build and rather than buying an OS i wanted to use the windows RC. My question is do i need to do anything specific when creating a boot disk? does it need to be saved as a certain file type or will the download save it correct and ready to be used?

Its a ISO image, just use oyur burning software to burn to CD as an image and job done. - best to post this in the software forum

Note you can also use a USB stick to boot and install, though you'll need to either burn a DVD first or have some virtual disc software installed, which is easy enough. The BIOS also has to support USB booting, though most do nowadays. For Win7 you'll probably need at least a 4GB drive.
