Anyone here fly them?

Looking to get cheapish one, or maybe buy a more expensive one a few parts at a time.

Would like to fly outside , anyone recommend good sites to look at etc?

Cheers

I got a little tiny one for Christmas. Thought it would be crap. It's fricking amazing. Not really the level I think you're talking about but it kinda makes me want to get more!

Missiles are deffo a must have! Quite powerful for what they are to, Shoots right across the room with some force. :)

I'm still a child at heart and me and little one have been doing some rate stunts with a RC helicopter and car :D

Yeah, I got one of those little 3 chan ones last year. Got my mate one this year and they are great fun, Now something with more range, power and if it lasted a little longer. Only problem I see is I don't mind crashing a little £30 one but one that's cost me £100+ I might :/

I got scaletrix drift kings set this year, Been on it hours lol, I'm 27 for gods sake.

i don't mind crashing as i hoping to enjoy rebuilding them etc too :)

I got a Syma 109G Apache for Christmas from my other half which is a great little '3.5 ch' toy, amazing for buzzing around the living room.

Then went out today with Christmas money and bought a Neon Blaze V3 Collective Pitch 400 size helicopter to learn how to fly a proper outdoors one :)

+1 :D. Got a small heli for Xmas, can't remember its specific name but it says on the side "Magpie". Great little heli!

I would say pick up a USB simulator and practice on that for a bit first just to learn orientation, how the controls work, etc. I currently have one of these:

http://www.heliguy.com/Flight-Simulators/ESKY-Flight-Sim/000502-ESKY-Flight-Simulator/

I dont use the crappy simulator one that comes with it, but there are plenty that you can download instead to have a go and learn how to control the heli coming towards you, what idle up means, how wind affects it. I've crashed countless times as my brain pushed the sticks the wrong way but all the crashes have been free as its virtual! Hook the lapotp up to the TV and its fun with mates too.

I have now moved on to using Phoenix V3 simulator - http://www.phoenix-simv3.com - It wont work with the USB trainer above as it needs its own special cable and you use your own transmitter.

About to buy my first heli now and feel a lot more confident after spending time in the simulators first!

Slippery slope this RC helicopter malarky. I wish I'd gone for the next scale up from the Esky king v2 :(

Hey - all you guys with the small helos (the tiny £40-£60 ones I mean)...how long does a charge last on one of those!? I wanna get one but they look like they can clatter around for 6mins or so before a recharge? Or do they stay up for longer??

Also are they easy to fly or do you need to go to flight school lol.

Thanks :D

Last 10 min at most and we have crashed this heli about 200 times since crimbo day and no marks on walls or tv. Only thing annoying is when you do a bad crash you can unclip the propellers.

Had little one running up to me every 2 minutes earlier asking me to clip these back together.
