RC Helicopters

hobbyking has forums and also the comments for items are usually stupidly helpful so just look at them.

how come you know about hobbyking anyway? you have other RC stuff? most people know of them because of the cheap but quality lipos they sell

My dad buys from them, he is into RC planes. He is electric so he will know about this stuff. I guess the hardest part will be trimming it, is this done with the firmware or can you change it with the transmitter? I will have a look on the forums, can't believe that the price is so low. As I understand, if I wanted to go and mess around with arducopter etc, I could just switch the boards around.
Edit: There is a frame with motors but it's only 10 A motors. 445 mm width, this is probably not that good for outside though.

trim can be adjusted on the transmitters with RC cars and im guessing its the same with helis.
i cant believe how tempting helis are :( might treat myself for my birthday coming up in a few days to something £100 or under but i would want something that can be properly upgraded with different motors , gyros , servos etc and i doubt its possible for that price as an RTR kit.
i'd want something fairly small to which is probably the main limiting factor.

the more i play with my sons syma 107g the more fun it seems

btw i just got out of the rc car hobby which i always felt like the UK was a letdown with choice and aftermarket parts having to be ordered from china or america, the flying scene actually seems to be really big and well suported by etailers

Just started constructing the frame for the quadcopter. Quite simple, the hardest part will be wiring it up.
£15 for all the stuff for the frame, £100 for all the parts.

wow wow!!

interesting about the 2mm carbon for tail boom, where can i get them from?

Hobby shops or kite shops will have it or there's always eBay. It's usually sold by the metre, so enough for a few tail booms, though the solid rod is much stronger and harder to break.

reduced from 50 to 29.99 until the 24th of january it seems to be this
http://caipo.manufacturer.globalsou...tl/RC-helicopter/1045943949/RC-Helicopter.htm
Product dimensions: 22 x 5 x 10.5cm
Aircraft body main materials: zinc alloy, PC and nylon

im guessing its going to be better than the u4/u6 and cheap syma ones?

Anyone know if this one is any good, especially compared to the S107G???
Im guessing as it is four channel it will be slightly more advanced and a little bit more challenging?

i think have this rc heli, got it for christmas (KM-630A2 is what all the websites lead me to believe as its not on the box anywhere). its quite powerful when fully charged and will lift quick. it takes a while to learn how to control as the turn stick is also the acceleration stick. sorry im new to all this and dont know the proper terms. it can take a beating as well, i have lots of dents in the blades and it still flys perfectly. the only thing is when you get near an object say within a foot (below it or to the side of the heli) it pulls into the object rather rapidly like in real life. over all though im very happy with it and would recomend it just DO NOT FLY OUTSIDE, i did and the slightest breeze caught it and it went straight over the house and out of signal range but didnt stop accelerating!

ah on closer inspecrtion from where my parents bought the heli its a N14JW which is identical to the KM-630A2 (http://www.******.co.uk/4-channel-indoor-i-r-helicopter-538016 this is where mine is from). all the stats are the same through them both apart from charge time is 40mins and flight is only 7 but i had a check with that and i had mine continually flying for 9.25mins and then 9.10mins consecutivly. hope this helps?

takes a lot of skill be that good, a lot of people who buy a real rc helicopter never even manage to hover them.

Someone will know about this
Just a quick question about quadcopter wiring, on the board that I am thinking about getting. For each connection to the receiver it has a 5v pin, should I only connect one 5v or is it OK to attach 5v for each channel?
