RC Helicopters

Been bitten by the bug (again) after flying my basic £30 indoor heli, and the model chinook ...

But now i want video!

I've been looking at the DJI Phantom Vision 2 that has a built-in camera and transmits to your smartphone... Is this actually any good? The videos look promising.

Is there anything else (inc' all components) that anyone would recommend for an £800 budget?

Just made repairs to my heli (main gear) and after putting it back together I have no power anywhere. The battery was full when I tried it, but probably was flat at the time of charging.

Im guessing the culprit is either the esc or the battery. If it was the esc would some things still work or would it just die completely?

Easy way is to charge the battery? You would do well to drain it completely, in fact if you have it could kill it. You're not supposed to go below around 20%.

It would suggest an esc issue if you're not getting any sounds or movement at all. What esc is it?

I have a 4chan indoor one, its super powerful and durable i've crashed it almost 100 times wih no breaks. cost £50 last Christmas its the EV.04 pro bought from modelzone

Its a Master CP Speed Controller. Its in the cradle on the heli and not in a position to damage as I was fixing other stuff. Its weird as it just died. I could always get another battery if it is that. If it isnt having a spare would be a good thing as it doubles the flying time.

Thanks for the reply!!

have you checked the battery with a multimeter/battery tester?

and check the ESC for loose wires or bad soldering on the battery cable.

also this thread needs more pics :)

My new heli. It's replacing the one with the blades on.

I'm currently installing the electronics. Maybe I'll get to maiden it on Sunday if the weather's okay.

Here's a groups shot of some others:

Had lots of fun today in the 40 minutes that it remained light. It was pretty fun getting to grips with it after nervously spending five minutes or so trying to take off.

I have had a cheapo Syma 107G for a while and I am currently in the process of buying parts for a RC plane, one of which is a Spektrum DX6i that I treated myself to for Christmas.

Should I be able to bind it to my S107? Does anyone know if the S107 is 2.4ghz?

Ordered an esc and a battery (it had to be one of them). Turns out to be the battery that was knackered, it starts up fine now. Just have to level the blades now.

Ive just brought a HK450 heli to play with, trying to set it up but getting confused with the ccpm and swash plate leveling, any suggestions ?
