I am interested in buying one, I have never owned one before.

I think to start with I would like one that I can just fly around my house and terrify the cats with.

Whats a good quality brand, and what should I avoid.

Do I need a 4 channel one?

I am bunging on a fully modded Esky Lama on the bay later. It has xtreme motors, uprated battery, xtreme blades, unbreakable tail and 30c burst rate battery.

It is brilliant indoors and out.

I tried the ROC falcon as a first buy rc copter, and it is great fun (never tried any other). It took some getting used to with the control joysticks, but after a few flights it gets easier.

Blade helicopters are hard to beat for small models. Try the mCX 2 for indoor fun and it's very easy yo fly.

For something a bit more challenging try the Heliguy Atom.

Avoid all three channel helicopters except possibly the Blade Scout. Spares are tough to get and you are going to crash at first.

- If you ever plan on flying a proper RC helicopter, then it is advisable as the controls will be the same
