Not strictly a pc based question but I'm assuming some of the audiophiles in here can help me.
I have a pair of m-audio bx8 d3 studio monitors that im currently using for my pc (connected with the maudio hub)
It seems a bit overkill for gaming so i want to repurpose them for my turntable, but they have an XLR input and the turntable only outputs RCA
Would there be any benefit to using a preamp or would RCA to XLR cables be sufficient?

You might be better asking in the Home Cinema and Hi-Fi section, but unless your turntable has a phono pre-amp stage built in you will definately need something between the turntable and the speakers.
