I want an RD600 and im sure many of you do too. do we know which manufacturers are thinking of making one and who have pulled out?

maybe a petition lol

Due for release in October

"We learned that the contradictory RD600 based boards with three PCIe 16X slots are still in the works. ATI's acquisition by AMD delayed things for a few weeks but the boards are not cancelled. "

Well the only one I've seen a board for is the DFI version, and it does look the business...don't know about the other manufacturers though. According to a lot of people though it seems that this chipset isn't going to get a lot of support as AMD buying ATI has messed up a lot of plan's...

A shame really as this chipset is looking to be the true killer board. Wonder what ATI will do with their version of the 'Physics' thing if they don't have their chipset working with Intel chips. Maybe only make a board/chipset compatable with AMD chips?

Mabye amd will intergrate it into their future cpu's

Yeah, but the mean problem with that is that it means you going to have only two types of CPU/Graphics in the future. AMD/ATi and Intel/Nvidia...

Sure you may be able to choose a ATi card and run it on an Intel PC now, but if ATi and Nvidia are serious about keeping SLi/Crossfire and their future physics stuff then we are likely to see more infighting between the two camps meaning less choice for us at the end of the day and more stupid decisions like the one made over the future of the RD600 chipset.

Frankly I think the AMD / ATi merger is the worse thing to happen to the PC market for a long time and I am suprised that the various trading watchdogs haven't been screaming about it.

Yeah I'm also waiting for this board!!!! why is it that DFI can not give a release date for this board they must know when its going to be ready  ? I have everything else I need to build my canroe system so is very frustrating waiting on this one part holding up the build:mad: .
