Here is an interesting one all.

My wireless PCI card wouldn't work on Vista so because I got agitated I went to this local PC shop but they didn't have any PCI wireless cards so instead I was a little hesistant but I got a wireless USB device.

It is a WG111 v2 USB device. It works brilliant no problem. I reckon when it works the light turns blue and flashes it looks lovely.

The problem is when I use my laptop to RDP into the Vista machine.
Remotely I noticed it would never work. It gives me the log on screen and when I enter the password it don't work.

So I sat here (on desktop vista pc) and RDP'd into the machine via my laptop and I just noticed that the USB WG111 light actually turns OFF while I try to remote in to my machine.

What could be triggering this?

might be one of the crappy wireless devices that doesn't load it's driver until the machine is logged in..?

is remote desktop enabled?
which vista are you connecting to?
does it work ok via ethernet?

Hi okay via ethernet no problems at all it works great.
RDP is enabled and did work fine with cable.

I am using ultimate 64 edition

I will try using my motherboard USB device
do you think there is a difference between motherboard usb and hub usb?

Hi guys I think it might be the netgear smart wizard software.
Do you reckon this could be interfering with this?

Anyone know what WZC is?
how can I set this up?

Wireless Zero Configuration, it's a service that's part of windows

services.msc, will get you there

try and install driver only for the device, and not the software that comes with it..

windows knows best with network i've found
