Hi all,

I just bought RDR2 and it downloaded overnight. First thing this morning I had a quick look and there was a setup section where I chose the female and changed her appearance etc. The scene then changed to them being transported to jail but being set free by a gang of three. I quit out at that point to start work.
This evening I go back in and what I just described doesn't exist and I'm playing as the main male character. What did I do wrong and how do I get back to what I think was the tutorial mode?

Ah ok got it thanks. The odd thing is this morning I thought I was in Story mode too but obviously can't have been the case, much appreciated and will have another look at it.

Thanks and all sorted, of course you were correct and that was it :-)

Hopefully last question but what's the fundamental difference between Online and Story mode?

Online is multiplayer so you'll get gangs of people roaming around doing missions and causing grief and agro, wild west style.

Story mode is single player, chapter driven game mode, slower paced a bit like watching a western TV show, it takes you through the life of the gang you are part of, train robbing, fights, shoot outs etc.

Defo do the first 2 chapters of story mode before jumping into Online, you'll understand a bit more of the game and mechanics etc.

I lasted about an hour in multiplayer after being griefed by some guys in a wagon (without a horse) that was fast AF and had some bonkers gun attached to it. Funny but not fun, if that makes sense.

Story mode though? * Chef's kiss *

Ha, think I'll stick to Story then because my shooting skills are non existent as I've never been a gamer really and at my age it's never going to happen. I also installed battlefield as a reminder of playing BF3 with my youngest years ago (I was useless then too) and joined a Conquest server... One of the squad messaged asking "Are you a bot or just useless?"... Just useless I'm afraid :cry:

You'll love it once you get going.
It's very relaxing in between the story sections when you can wander wherever you like at your own pace.
The story is really well done too, am sure it won't be too long before you see an Oscar category for this sort of thing.

I wish I'd never played story mode, just so I coild play it again now and be like, wow this is something else, again.

Gave up on online. Everyone had over powered guns and I just got wasted all the time.

I did have a quick try of online, maybe only 30 minutes or so but didn't come across anyone else, well no characters trying to kill me that is. Is that normal and do I need to get further in as it were?

There's a few different modes. All the ones I did try had people all over. 30 mins seems a long time to me.
