I recently update my drivers for my DVD RW drive. I think it was a flash update, cant quite remember. I obviously had to reboot and when I did I got the message

There has been a significant hardware change and requires activation

I clicked ok and it took me to the activation screen. I put in my XP key and pressed enter.

This key has been used too many times etc messages appeared. I thought WTF.

Only got this from OCUK 2 weeks ago and only did one install and it worked and activated perfectly.

Tried again and it said this CD key is invalid. Again.. WTF

Called MS and got it activated.

All this because of a update driver/flash.

I am now worried that if and when the time comes to format and reinstall XPMCE. I will have to go through all this again. I paid for the CD`s and the key and very worried my key has now become one of the black listed ones..

Any thoughts on this.?

It will have said that because you will have tried to activate to "different" PC's with the same key within a very short period of time. Aslong as you don't have to reactivate within 120days MS should let you activate it automatically. If you perform a major upgrade after the 120 days have passed you might still have to call, but its not really a major issue. Takes about 5mins and its a freephone number.
