Re-applying Thermal paste worth it?

I've got a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 and I put it on using the normal way (Blob of artic silver in middle of cpu then spread even) but then I read this about putting thermal paste on diffrently for exposed pipes.

bottem line, will i see a temp different and by how much?

What temps are you getting now?
(Idle and load).

My room is pretty hot at the min (26 - 28c), CPU running at stock at the min (Q9550 C1)

idle:

Core 1: 43c
Core 2: 35c
Core 3: 40c
Core 4: 36c

Load:

Core 1:54
Core 2:45
Core 3:52
Core 4:48

Do you have the processor OCed? the load temps look good to me.

The temps look about right for that ambient.

but would i see a drop in temps if i did though? and if yes how much?

the best way to find out is to just try it i guess, ive never heard of doing that but i dont have that type of cooler
