Evening all, a while ago I asked about recommending a psu that would be capable of running a 7950 with perhaps the option to upgrade later, advice said that my current 550w psu would be ample and so I stuck to using this psu and its kept me going for almost a year now, however now the times come and I have gotten myself a 2nd gpu I'm looking to getting that new psu now, rough calculations say a 750w psu would be recommended, what do you think? Both cards with be O.C. as will my CPU, with the phantom case Ive a good few fans and the fan controller to power too, would I be safer giving myself abit of head-room and get a 850w psu?
Additionally I would prefer a modular supply - help maintain some decent cable management, ideally I would like to keep the price down but the more I look the more PSUs I see that entice me at a greater and greater price point :-/.

From the previous topic I made the supplies that I like were (of the 750w variety):

and the research I've been doing the power supplies I like are :

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-105-NX&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2466 (match my case :P )

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-023-SS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2466

See what I mean - far too much choice....and prices get steeper and steeper :-/ and all seem quality psu's - just which one to hit buy on ? (or is their a psu I have missed out on you can recomend)

Thanks in advance for any advice....again lol

All the below Psus have Seasonic OEM and are all capable or running your system.
However, so are the ones you have posted, so it comes down to how much you want to pay.

YOUR BASKET
1 x XFX 850W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply £101.99
1 x XFX Pro Series 850W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £94.99
1 x XFX Pro Series 750W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £85.99
1 x XFX Pro 850W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £74.99
Total : £371.46 (includes shipping : £11.25).

Thats for that - so it all comes down to evil money XD, just trying to find the right amount of money to spend, dont want to waste money needlessly, but also dont want to skimp on the supply either and have to upgrade it again in a bit - more pondering must be done haha

I'd definatley advise paying out for a decent psu, when I built my rig I opted for a "cheap" ocz psu, and despite bing 1000w it just didn't like it when I added things like a second gpu, it couldn't provide the continuous power down the 12v rail and caused all sorts of issues.

I now have a corsair ax860i and I will say its bloody brilliant, but anything made by seasonic will do a fine job, but they do come at a cost :)

I think for the price, I would be tempted with XFX Silver modular. More than you need, so should run pretty efficiently.
