Hi guys,

Just helping out a friend, she hasn't got much so as I have just built a new system for myself, I thought I'll give her my old parts + a few parts from hers, and build her a decent enough system.

I took out her dvd-rom, hdds and psu, and from scratch put in my mb, cpu, gfx and ram. I put everything together and as soon as I ran the comp, it's coming on but getting 'No signal' on the monitor and I'm not receiving any beeping noise from the speaker.

I decided to take out the gfx and ram, still I'm not getting any beeping, so my first thought it could be the motherboard which is knackered.

I switched the mb and cpu with her old system but still put in the gfx and this time, I did get a beeping noise (Only Once), but the gfx cards fan wasn't turning. As I have 2 of everything, I did the same... put the other gfx in and still the same problem - fan wasn't turning. Then, I thought the psu was knackered, I switched to another psu and I still had the same problem.

The mb that has no beeping whether I took ram/gfx out was the Asus A8V and I get 1 beepwith the MS-7061.

If anyone has got any ideas, let us know... I'm slightly confused what could be the problem.

Cheers.

My Old system:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
A8V Deluxe MB
2GB Ram DDR 400
ATI 9700
Enermax 500W PSU

My Friends System:
AMD Sempron
MS-7061 MB
256MB Ram DDR 333
ATI 9700
320W PSU

I've cleared the cmos and still the same... nothing comes up, system runs but no signal to the monitor.

I have still used the same ram in both mb, havent mixed it yet.

Well, i think i found the problem... found a small screw underneath the bloody mb and its short circuit the board, so thats clearly knackered. Wonder what damaged its done?!!? :(

Not happy!
