Hello all,

I've just replaced my motherboard / cpu / ram and windows xp is failing to boot up properly. Is there anyone that can offer me a few pointers / advice please?

The ram and hdd are being seen fine in bios, and the window cd boots up fine and lets me see the c: drive.

Basicaly do I need to do a fresh install of XP as I've changed so much of the innards? Is it possible to repair the old version or do I install over the top, should I install a whole new version in a new directory, leaving the old one behind?

So many questions, so little brain...

Cheers

Ahh... whenever I've upgraded in the past there was a new hdd to go with the motherboard.

The important ones (work, photos, music etc) are all backed up, but I'm loathe to format the hdd and have to reinstall so much software and do all that patching.

Unless someone knows of a quick way to reinstall, including how to back up EQ2 so I don't have to download all the patches since release...?
