Hi Guys,

I'm preparing to do a Windows re-install, but i have a few games downloaded through Origin which is nearly 100gig which i don't fancy re-downloading. The Origin folder is on a separate drive.

Is there anyway to keep the folder and re-use it on the fresh install?

Thanks

if its on a separate drive then it shouldnt be deleted.

when you install oriign on the new OS make sure to have the install directory setup wherever the files are or just copy them to the default location.

You specify which (if any) drives are formatted on a fresh install so just move your origin folder to a drive you won't format and then reinstall windows. Origin has an option built into the preferences tab which specifies where to look and store your game files, so when you are back up and running, just specify the folder on the other drive and you'll be back up and running.

Done this myself a few times and not have any issues.

it does indeed work perfectly - it's also good as you can select what you want and get a tiny little exe file to put on a usb stick or whatever before you format, then the first thing u do after formatting is run the exe and go make a coffee
