Re-installing at Dell netbook

I bought a secondhand Dell One netbook and I'd like to re-install it. I have all the discs for it (XP-Home and driver discs) but no USB CD-ROM. Is it possible to install from a USB stick or do I need to get a drive? If its the latter, then can anyone recommend a cheapo one?

Do you have a recovery disc or just a normal XP disc.

The disc for my Acer can create a bootable USB stick by booting any normal pc from the disc.

Or USB cdrom, I ordered a really cheap external enclosure and chucked an old DVD RW drive and it it works great (but not portable!)
