On the road....
I am selling my old laptop, it has Vista home premium OEM.

Trouble is, I don't have its recovery disks nor an oem Vista disk.

Given that I have a licence key, if I can find an iso image of Vista , I assume I could use that to re-install (after burning it to a DVD) using my machines licence key?

I suspect this is a sin & I'd be damned though! :o

is it that acer listed? i think you can press alt+f10 when booting and it should boot into recovery
you might have to enable recovery (D2D)in the bios

i think all this depends if you have formatted with vista before tho

I'll try that, but I'm sure its recovery partition is long dead.

You'll be fine using a generic Vista Home Premium OEM DVD :). If you use an unbranded disk you'll benefit from a fresh install free of factory installed bloat!
