Recently my mams PC decided to just freeze after 5 minutes of login time. I've tried Anti Virus programs, Spybot, Hard Drive checks and everything but the problem still remains.

This has resulted in me wanting to start from scratch and just get a clean installation of windows onto the PC.

I insert the Windows XP Disc, it loads up as if it wants to begin the installation and then it tells me:

Setup did not find any Hard Disk drives installed in your computer.

Is there a reason for this as if I remove the Windows XP installation disk and boot up the computer as normal, it boots into Windows...until it freezes.

Is there a Bios Setting causing problems somewhere? I have checked the markings on the back of the Hard Drive and as far as I can see it is set to Master.

Any ideas guys?

Might be worth re-checking connections (Cables etc) just in case, and then clearing the CMOS; the little jumpers on the actual motherboard. Check with your mobo manual first for their location, because quite a lot of the onboard jumpers look the same.

I always find that clears any minor niggles when performing a fresh install on an existing setup :p
