Re-mapping a Mazda 6

Anyone any experience in re-mapping a standard spec Mazda 6 2.0 TS2 Diesel. Is it safe enough to do & what would be the average power increase ?
Is it worth the money / hassle & would it be worth combining with a decent air filter ?

The price will be £200 - Work completed by a mech. who has done hundreds before & is well experienced.

But can I expect performance increases of around 20-30HP & what, if any damage will this be doing the engine ? I am looking to get another 4-5 years life out of this mazda -averaging about 15000 miles a year - will this still be achievable ?
