re memory speeds

hi all just a quickie, thinking of upgrading me mobo for crossfire and was thinking about ram too, so what i want to know is i currently have pc6400 dual channel, would i notice a difference in games if i upgraded to some 1600mhz ram or even 1333

You are looking at DDR3 motherboards then? Personally i think that DDR3 on socket 775 is really not worth the huge price premium. What cpu will you be using and will you be overclocking it?

no just getting a p45 mobo with crossfire, but have seen some ddr2 memory with very high speeds and was wandering if i would notice any difference with a q6600, or wheter to stick with what i have, but have just noticed i was looking at the wrong ram, so would i notice any difference with 1066 ram sorry for the blonde moment back there.

No, unless you need the higher bus speed for an overclock. The memory speed makes hardly any diffidence in real terms. Not even a few percent.

Probbaly 1 or 2 frames. If your overclcoking a lot that is where faster ram is needed. as it's linked to the fsb and to stop bottle necks.
