I came accross this gem from

http://www.msblog.org/?cat=14

"Getting bored during xp install?"

Basically once xp has placed the files needed you can do anything through a CMD window. You press Shift+F10 within the gui part of the install.

It goes on to say that if you wanted to play pinball whilst it installs, you could!! Example follows.

Press Shift+F10-And type the following…

* cd \
* cd “Program Files”
* cd “Windows NT”
* cd Pinball
* pinball.exe

Now, I havent tried this, but I think its genuine judging by the contents of the website itself. If it does, how good is that!!!

Or go get a cup of tea or something while you're waiting.

Or DIR command the C:/ drive to see how XP populates it during install.
(really geeky I know, but I have always wanted to know this....)
