Is there a quick way to re-save jpegs?

As jpegs from my camera are about 1-1.5mb each, but literally opening up the jpeg in Paint, and re-saving it as a jpeg, cuts the file size at least half, without changing the quality.

Reason for this is to cut down upload time when uploading to the net.

Is there any software that will do this for me quicker, rather then having to open up each one manually and saving?

Thanks

Photoshop, Lightroom or Picasa (both great for catalogging your Photos, with Lightroom being the better).

From memory Paint does reduce the quality by a large amount.

Irfanview also has a batch mode which would let you do this.

Edit: Gah - beaten again.

IrfanView is a great program for all your image viewing and resizing needs. Can even open videos and documents at a push. I never build a PC without it.

You can bet it is with a reduction in quality, may not be very noticeable but it will be there.

Picasa will also let you export photos to a smaller size. It's also a great tool to manage your photos, it doesn't mess with the directory structure or modify the files like some programs do.
