RE: Unsecured wireless network

I want to tell them, but I guess I wouldnt be able to find out where they live.

I dont use it, I only get a weak intermittent signal...

It just goes to show.. I wonder how many open networks there are accross the country!

If it's a bunch of male students, abuse their bandwidth.
If it's a bunch of good looking female students, go over with alcohol, help fix their internet and ... well who knows ;)

Seriously, there's not a great deal you can do. Ignore it would be my opinion :)

No really, don't ... its like wrong .. unless u don't get caught ;) I know what I would do ..........

my neighbour has an unsecured wireless network its a good backup if mine goes down! :D
I should tell him really but i doubt anyone would park up outside his house just to use the net

Ahh but people on other streets may be able to use it :) from ym bedroom in the bay window area I could pick up wireless networks from up and down the street and from the street opposite :)

LOL that comment has made my day!!

I can pick up 2 sitting in my living room, 1 WPA secured and another fully open. It's quite a big risk if it's been left open unintentionaly because you can sniff the packets and extract all sorts of unencrypted data such as emails and website passwords.

Mine has no encryption, only SID broadcasting off, no ones ever logged into it apart from people in my house though.
I figure encryption will slow down game ping.

It will make virtually no difference in the grand scheme of things, relative to the flux that you will see on your internet connection. Test it with encryption enabled and I doubt your latency will increase by more than 1ms at worst.

If you are that worried about game ping, you shouldn't be using wireless in the first place anyway.
