After completing the pc version, i figured i'd get the Wii version for the new control method

Damn the graphics look poor :(, a huge drop from the pc's version -which is a ps2 port, the ps2 version was supposed to be worse than the cube's graphics, the higher res in the pc version really pays off

sure i am using a 37" hdtv, and the component cables, but wii sports looks more polished :(

I assumed it's the jaggies that spoiled the look?

I had try out component on my 37" and returned it after a couple of days. Jaggies hell!

I have found RGB to be the best compromise, soften the edge of jaggies slightly while keeping the graphic looking sharp. It has made a big difference to the games with graphic like Zelda!

rgb, as in the cable that comes with the wii?

i tried re4 with that at first, and it looked 3x worse than with the component cable (and setup in display options)

No, that's crappy composite.

TBH there isn't much stuff that doesn't look rough on the Wii via component on a HDTV. It's much better suited to a CRT screen. Cartoony stuff gets away with it, but detailed games look a bit poor.

Nope, thats composite...terrible.

Also RGB have slightly lower quality output than component and some says it looks the same but imo, it's the best cable for my 37" tv. It's the only cable that bought the life to waterfall and landscape in Zelda, otherwise they would be jaggies as hell using component!

I had all three cables with me to compare, component looked very sharp but jaggies because of low resolution. Played for hours on them, I find RGB to be the best compromise and much easier on my eyes. :)

I'm using Panasonic Plasma 37".

I bought this yesterday and on my 32" LCD it looks rough through component, I'm enjoying the game but graphically it is a bit naff. Games like Mario Galaxy looks fine but realistic looking games don't impress.

to a tea :)

I hated some of the Wii controls especially aiming? Why not fire with the trigger  Why can't moving the aim to the end of the screen move the aim as opposed to have the joy stick I run with throw my aim into the air ect

TBH the Wii games I like are the ones that make sense with the controls like warioware, trauma centre ect

Depends on games? Zelda has it.

Mines looks great on CRT with the RGB scart. Although Im getting my 40" LCD on sat ill compare, a collegue of mine has a plasma and was disappointed by the difference a component cable made.

The only think that puts me off RE:4 is that its scarey and i cant get on with the controls. :p Hit the button to aim after moving and your aim just tracks straight up
