Reaction engine test is success!

Tldr version of what is a reaction engine?

reaction engines are a company.

they're making a pre cooled jet engine that can also close its intakes at higher altitudes and become a rocket engine to make a single stage to orbit reusable space craft.

they've just proved the precooler technology works.

preecooler lows it to fly much higher and faster than normal engines.

Think Concorde, but like...faster.

:)

that would be the reaction engines A2, a hypersonic mach 5 air liner.

No windows unfortunately due to heat and weight.

Yeah but who cares, its hardly like people look out of them anyway, they will be adding displays as well for "comfort".

A nice display showing a camera feed from the outside is far better than a tiny round window that barely 1 person can look out of!

Impressive stuff coming out of these places though.

I just thought of a cool thing, the whole inner hull (whatever you call it) of the passenger decks, should have the roof be a huge OLED, so you can basically just show feeds around the craft...so awesome...hope it occurs.

Perhaps it would be a power hog though?

would also weigh a few tons and be a huge fire and electrical hazard.
