Read More not showing on Blog Page

I am having a slight issue with my new Wordpress site, I have setup a blog page by creating a new page and selecting Blog as the Page Template.

When on the blog page it shows the full blog post rather than showing an excerpt and a "Read More" button under it.

Is there a setting I have missed somewhere in the Admin CP? The theme options doesn't cover it.

I feel really stupid, just needed to add the following in the post at the desired location:

I was getting confused as the old Wordpress theme I was using automatically created an excerpt from the first 100 characters of each post.
