Reading a Centos5 hard drive on another computer?

Chaps,

I've got a drive that was in a Centos5 server, when I connect it to my Ubuntu laptop, I can see /boot but nothing else.

Am I going to be able to read this drive or do I need to try and fish the server out of the skip? I only need a couple of files from it and it's nothing secure.

I've a similar problem but with CentOS 6/7. Have you got the xfs file system installed on ubuntu? Or whichever fs it may have been on centos5.

This is the method I used - It was LVM.
