Hi guys,

Well, my E6400 just arrived :) Just wondering, how do you read the stepping/batch info from the registry on the chip? Mine reads L628B036 if that helps.

Well I know that much, I was curious if there's a way to tell before I take it out of the box. :) Long story but basically I won't have a chance to finish assembling the system until after Boxing Day (am off bright and early tomorrow to visit relatives) so I won't be able d/l cpu-z and check the stepping that way.

UPDATE

I've read around a bit more and found out that any Core 2s after week 21 (i.e. reading with serial #s starting L621 or higher) are B2 stepping. Move along folks, nothing to see here. :cool:
